The ID Tech VP3300 is a Bluetooth credit card reader that is available to CardConnect customers. Currently this device is only compatible with the mobile app on iPhones and iPads, but may be available for more devices in the future.
Enabling Bluetooth
To connect the ID Tech VP3300 you must have Bluetooth turned on on your iPhone or iPad. To enable Bluetooth on your device, follow the steps below.
From the main screen of your device, select the Settings app.
You should now see an option for Bluetooth. If it is displaying as Off, tap on Bluetooth. If it is showing as On, you can continue onto the next section.
Tap on the slider next to Bluetooth so that the slider moves to the right and turns green.
Bluetooth on your device is now enabled. Unlike most Bluetooth devices, you do not need to sync the ID Tech VP3300 to your iPhone or iPad.
Processing a Payment
Once Bluetooth has been enabled you can then process a payment through the apps on your iPhone or iPad using the ID Tech VP3300.
Within the app, create a new ticket or select an existing ticket which you wish to process.
Select Check Out at the bottom of the screen.
Select Add Payment.
Make sure that the ID Tech VP3300 is powered on.
Within the CardConnect Devices section, an option for ID Tech-VP3300 will appear. Select Ready.
A message will appear stating Swipe or Insert. At this point you can either swipe the credit card or, if the card contains an EMV chip, you can insert the card into the credit card reader.
When the card swipe has been detected you will hear a loud beep along with a message stating Approved on your iPhone or iPad.
You will then be prompted to enter a tip and sign for the transaction. Once the customer has signed for the transaction, select Done Signing. The credit card transaction is now complete.
