These instructions will help you setup and configure a pole display to work with your software. There are a few models that will definitely work with your software. These models include the Logic Controls PD3000, the Logic Controls PD6000, and the Logic Controls LD9000. You should also be able to use models that connect to your computer using a Serial interface connector.
Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the proper assembly of your device. Once everything is put together and placed where you would like it, connect the device to your computer. Navigate to Tools > Options > Hardware Setup in your software. The configuration settings for Pole Displays are in the lower section of this window.
If your pole display connects via USB:
Select the proper model from the Pole display pull-down menu.
Click the Install Driver button.
Select the source from which to install the driver. Retrieving the file from the Internet is probably easiest. This option will open our website where you can download the driver.
Run the installation file. Allow any Windows security prompts you may get during installation.
Click the Show Test Message button when the installation file completes to confirm that your device is working properly.
If the test message does not work, verify that you have selected the proper model type in the Pole display pull-down menu or try connecting the device to another available USB port on your computer.
If your pole display connected via Serial port:
Select Serial in the Pole display pull-down menu.
Click the Configure button.
The COM port will automatically be selected for COM Port #1. Windows may have assigned your device a different COM Port number. To verify this, go to Devices and Printers in Windows. Your device name may appear as Pole Display (COM3). If this is the case, change the COM Port # to 3 in the software settings.
Click the Show Test Message button. If the test message is not displayed, you may need to alter the Baud Rate, Parity, Data Bits, or Stop Bits settings for your device. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines or instructions for this information.
